About Me

_DSF4672Memoir and nonfiction are two of our greatest teachers. They are my passion, and so is helping writers reach their goals with them.

I have helped many hundreds of writers in my thirty-plus-year career with memoir and nonfiction, as a developmental editor, writing coach, book consultant, ghostwriter, memoir teacher, and publishing coach.

Since the early 1980s I’ve edited scores of books for Bay Area publishers, including Chronicle Books, Ten Speed Press, and Ortho Books, I’ve been an editor at Women’s Sports & Fitness magazine, and I’ve taught memoir for over twenty years at community colleges, universities, and writer’s conferences as well as in online memoir programs for schools and independently.

I am creator of the new 100 Years in the Life series, beginning with Girlhood in America: Personal Stories 1910 – 2010 and accepting submissions for other books in the series, at www.100yearsinthelife.com.
